Sadie Benning, Shared Eye. Sadie Benning’s (b. 1973, USA) body of new work is somewhere between sculpture, painting and photography. The exhibition entitled Shared Eye is Benning’s first institutional solo show in Europe. The works combining colored resin, digital snapshots, found photographs, objects and painted elements reflect on current American politics. They juxtapose the intimate and the anonymous, the digital present and an indeterminate analog past, putting viewers in front of the artist‘s highly personal response to the state of the world at a moment of deep political uncertainty.
To mark its twentieth anniversary, the Fondation Beyeler is presenting the works of one of the most important and best-loved artists of all time: Claude Monet (1840–1926). The exhibition is a celebration of light and color – for, with his use of reflections and shadows, Monet was a master in evoking magical moods. The exhibition examines the artistic development of this great French painter from the Impressionist period through to his famous late work.
Science fiction becomes reality: for some time now, robotics have been making their way into our everyday lives. Examples range from transport drones and intelligent sensors to the debate around Industry 4.0. With its exhibition "Hello, Robot. Design between Human and Machine" the Vitra Design Museum examines the current boom in robotics in detail for the first time. The exhibition presents a large number of exhibits, including examples of robots used in the home, in industry and in medicine; but also media installations, computer games along with examples from films and literature featuring robots. It shows how robotics are changing our lives today – and how design is changing robotics.

As one of the founding artists of classical modern art, Paul Cézanne (1839–1906) is now widely acclaimed as the preeminent and most famous painter of the late nineteenth century. Less well known is his
groundbreaking work as a draftsman; relatively little scholarship has been devoted to this aspect of his oeuvre, which is rarely presented in exhibitions. The Kunstmuseum Basel’s Kupferstichkabinett (Department of Prints and Drawings) contains 154 drawings by Cézanne, making it the most comprehensive and important collection of the artist's drawings in the world.
